Poem by Dichterskring Waterland
In public spaces poetry has an added value. It makes you breathless, can surprise you, puts a smile on your face or makes you daydream for a moment. There is a permanent poem on the poetry wall at the Zuidersteeg. Poems on this wall are written by Dichterskring Waterland.
The Dichterskring collaborates with the Dijklanderziekenhuis and Zorgcirkel Waterland on the project 'Poetry in Public Spaces'. Each year, poems are displayed on banners in the hospital lobby and various nursing homes, rotating among the locations. Since 2019, a new poem is displayed annually at the Winkelcentrum Eggert (opposite the Het Leesteken bookstore in the Zuidersteeg). Starting in early 2023, the poem in the Zuidersteeg is moved after a year to the side wall of Villa Zuidwijk in Zuidoostbeemster. A new poem is then displayed in the Zuidersteeg. Until 2018, the poems were displayed on the side of Proeflokaal Bakker.
