There is so much to do along the coast of the Markermeer! Lovely beaches are interspersed with endless cycle paths and historic villages with fishing spots and marinas. There is so much to do here. Even better: everything is close by and parking is almost always free!

Het Twiske
A place where every member of the family can enjoy themselves: Het Twiske. While Mom and Dad are resting on the waterfront or having a drink/bite to eat at one of the restaurants, the offspring can have fun at the Adventure Playground - with suspension bridge, cable car, tube fortress, hand-pulled ferry and swings - or at the Speelsloot. For a drink, ice cream or a snack you can go to one of the kiosks.

Brown fleet Monnickendam
Choose the open sea and let the wind blow through your hair on one of the historic yachts of the brown fleet. Be one with the elements! Here you will find an overview of the 'brown fleet'. The picturesque inner harbour of Monnickendam is home to many of these historic ships. It's worth a visit, these beautiful ships are usually moored together at 't Prooijen.

When entering the junctions, you can immediately see the length and duration of the selected route in the app. Water depths and vertical clearances are also indicated. And along the way, the app gives you tips about places of interest, catering and accommodation options along the route.

Many moorings along the water have a sign stating 'No mooring' or 'private jetty'. Public moorings are often difficult or impossible to identify for water sports enthusiasts. In Waterland, however, there are several public moorings that can be clearly identified by the blue and white signs with 'Landvast' on them. Moor your boat here for a nice picnic or to further discover Old Holland!
